What makes a product video work
Show the product being used, close up, in good light. Show the details people can’t see in photos, like texture, size in someone’s hand, how it opens or how it moves. Keep it short and real. Shoppers trust a phone video more than something that looks staged.
Etsy listing videos
Etsy listing videos are 5 to 15 seconds long, and Etsy removes the sound. Ask Cutleap for a short, silent cut with no captions that depend on voice-over, just the product from a few angles.
Use the same footage for a longer Reel or TikTok with your voice and captions, to send people to your shop.
Shopify and social
On your Shopify product page and social posts you can use sound and talk about the product. A quick demo works well: the problem, the product in use, then the result.
Know the format
Right now Cutleap makes vertical 9:16 videos, which suit TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Pinterest. Square and 4:5 are coming. Check how a vertical video looks on your listing before you publish it.
“Make a 12-second silent video of the product from these clips.”
“Make a 30-second demo: problem, product in use, result.”
“Use only the close-up shots.”

What should I film?
Ten short close-up clips of 3–5 seconds each, in daylight: the product being used, held, opened and shown from different sides.
Do I need music?
Not for Etsy, which removes sound. For Reels and TikTok, Cutleap adds licensed music that gets quieter when you talk.
